Food Photography in Glasgow by creative agency We Can Rebuild Him

We’ve been lucky enough to shoot food photography in Glasgow, throughout Scotland and across Europe, for small independent clients right through to household names. Glasgow legends like Stravaigin, Ho Wong, Ubiquitous Chip, Big Bear Bakery and many more, have worked with us to create food photography and/or video production, as have national brands like Dobbies Garden Centres, Highland Park Whisky, Tennent’s Lager and CalMac Ferries.

Generally speaking, although all photography shoots are completely different, we’re approaching most food and drinks shoots with the same basic philosophy: we’re looking to distil a story about the business into the imagery, so that the photography goes beyond just depicting the menu or catching the perfect frosting on a chilled glass. We’re very experienced working on commercially focused projects, and so as well as trying to create artistic and striking imagery for our clients, we’re looking to help you sell product and make money too.

Video Production in Glasgow with a Food and Beverage Specialisation

We’re one of the most established agencies in Glasgow and Scotland for food photography, but food-focused video production is an even more specialised pursuit, and we’re got years of experience in this field. We’ve shot cocktail mixology in Denmark and whisky tastings on Orkney; we’ve made snappy, scroll-stopping Instagram bait and we’ve created documentary-style behind the scenes content for restaurants. You can see some of our varied video production work in the F&B sector on this page – and if you head to our blog, you can read the story of how we shot for a single day at Ho Wong, and generated a year’s worth of video content that got 100k views without a penny in ad spend.

One of the key elements of great food photography and cinematography is lighting. Shooting food is challenging and takes experience, and very often, food prep areas – kitchens, bakeries, the pass – have nasty, colour-distorted lighting that can catch out inexperienced photographers. There’s a reason that a chef’s iPhone photography of the food often fails to capture the natural colours and make the food look edible, and it’s because they’re not bringing in the specialist lighting to combat the shooting environments that they work in. We’re going to do that for you, so that the food looks clean, vivid, and incredibly appetising.
